“I WORK EVERY DAY LIKE A MAN POSSESSED, HOPING THAT THE WORLD WILL COME TO ITS SENSES”
Gastone Cecconello
Over fifty years of research on figure, symbol and matter.
Gastone Cecconello (Vercelli, 1942) is an artist of inexhaustible creative vein and expresses himself with all the media at his disposal: from engraving to painting, from sculpture to mixed media. All of his work manifests an incessant struggle between the concreteness of matter and the desire to go back to the simplicity of origins, between the seductive beauty of iron, wood, and stone and the vibrancy of the colored pastels and pastel strokes that generously crowd and revive the surfaces on which they rest. A solitary researcher who is out of the chorus, a tireless and tenacious experimenter, and also intolerant by nature of the highest systems of art and social affiliations, Cecconello has a long journey behind him in the Italian art scene. He lives and works in the province of Biella.
